Olympian. Entrepreneur. SPEAKER.
A decade of relentless pursuit led me to Olympic Silver, World Championship Gold, and Commonwealth Games Gold.
Now I channel that same drive into helping athletes and teams unlock their potential and achieve their next personal best.
THE COMEBACK
January 2023. World-ranked. Commonwealth Games gold medalist. Paris 2024 in clear sight.
Then a pain I'd never felt before tore down my right leg. Within days, walking became difficult. Within weeks, I couldn't move my right leg at all.
An MRI revealed a benign tumour lodged in my spinal canal, compressed against the nerve roots. The surgery was extensive—they removed the tumour and sections of vertebrae from my spine.
I woke up in a hospital bed, eleven months from Olympic trials, with a reconstructed spine and a choice to make.
Five weeks post-surgery, I was back in the pool. Not because I was reckless, but because I understood something the statistics couldn't account for: I'd spent a decade building the discipline, support systems, and physical foundation that made an accelerated recovery possible. I restructured everything—nutrition protocols, sleep architecture, training load. I trusted the process I'd built more than I feared the prognosis.
The result: I qualified for Paris with a 48.08-second personal best, the fastest time of my career. At the Games, I won Olympic silver in the 4×100m freestyle relay and finished 15th in the 100m freestyle individual event.
Medical studies deal in probabilities. Elite performance requires you to understand which variables you can control—and then control them with precision.
I wasn't delusional about being an outlier. I was deliberate about becoming one.
